Backstory

Humans pose the gravest threat to wildlife species today. With our plastic consumption filling the oceans, our fossil fuels contributing to climate change, and, in more overt cases, the consumption of rare species for their supposed medicinal properties.

Beasties was founded to fight back and contribute to wildlife conservation. However, the traditional way of contributing - a monthly donation - didn't resonate with us. We discovered we are not the only ones that feel this way. Charities are having an increasingly difficult time raising funds through traditional channels. So we set out to raise funds for them, by creating uplifting products that give back.

We see our products as billboards that live amongst people. They are meant to be conversation starters to help create awareness. But although awareness is great, we also recognise the need for funds. For every $3 we make, we give $1 to wildlife. (The other $2 are used to grow the business, so we can give more in the future.)

Together we can make sure that the beautiful species that roam our earth today, will continue to do so for generations to come.

Capsule Collection I: Marine Animal Beach Towels

Launching with our marine animal beach towels, we want to shed a light on the threats sharks, manta rays and sea turtles face and the conservation efforts our charity partner WildAid is undertaking.

WildAid works with governments and partners to protect fragile marine reserves from illegal fishing and shark finning, to enhance public and political will for anti-poaching efforts, and to reduce climate change impacts.

About WildAid

The illegal wildlife trade is a multi-billion dollar global industry largely driven by consumer demand in expanding economies. While most wildlife conservation groups focus on scientific studies and anti-poaching efforts, WildAid works to reduce global consumption of wildlife products and to increase local support for conservation efforts.
